Punch Gets Whipped But the A's Can't Catch Up! With only 2 games to go, everything's tighter than a Florida recount. The big news is that Punch is mortal after a 30 point laugher loss to the Gunmen. Lose to the Badfingers, beat Team Punchey, go figure. The Coronas stay at the top of the Vandal division with a win over the up and down Jackhammers, no pun intended. The Wahoos didn't really get much, but they get enough to keep up with the Coronas with a win over the Focken A's. The A's intended to play Tony Gonzalez, but didn't get his chad punched all the way and were stuck with Jerry Rice instead. So the Commish asked the A's not to bring in high powered legal guns, but we've already gotten a copy of Johnny Cochran's brief on the subject: "If the A's didn't win, you must send in lineups again!" The Federals stay out ahead of the Gunmen in the Celt Division with a win over the Commandos. And the Slayers have the worst luck. They had a good shot at the Generals, had a sub all lined up for Marshal Faulk, then Faulk decides to play after all and Fred Taylor decides to pull one of those games we've all been waiting for him to have for 2 seasons. The Generals are so lucky. Oh, and the Fingers beat the Rangers, not that anyone was concerned.
