SAME HEADLINE AS LAST WEEK; WAHOOS GET THE JOB DONE
The Badfingers are now well on their way to the playoffs with a win over the worst team in the league. C4 is virtually eliminated from contention. Touchdown Tony Martin (glad you resigned him?) came home with 2 scores to lead the Fingers. Team Punchey (barely) held off the Federals to maintain their lead in the Microsoft Division. The Jacksonville backfield delivered for the Punchmeisters. The Norsemen scored a big win over the Slayers to keep pace in the Apple Division. Balanced scoring from nearly everybody, including the Bengal contingent, gave the Norsemen the big win. In our only cross-division game this week, the Coronas hold off the Generals using 12 from Warrick Dunn. The Generals were game with 12 from Joey Galloway, but the Favre to Freeman connection hit for the difference. After 2 straight loses and dropping further behind Punchey, there is much furrowing of brows and finger pointing in the encampment along the James River. And finally, after much whining about the league's inability to beat the Tigers, the Wahoos took matters into their own hands and whipped up on the Tigers themselves. The Tigers got their usual odd score from an unexpected source, but a Panther shutout hurt. The Wahoos got two skyhooks from Karim Abdul-Jabbar for the winning margin.
