Fingers Survive, Face Champs Next. Rookies Make Statement, Can They Make It a Triple?
Despite some shaky personnel decisions, the Badfingers continue to advance by knocking the Gunmen from the playoffs. The G-men made a game of it, and the Commish had to watch the whole Monday Night game yet again, but Terrell Owens delivered only one score. The seemingly whimsical change of defensive starter to the Chargers provided the margin for the Finger win. The Fingers could have made this one a laugher, but Rob Moore's and Curtis Martin's points were left on the bench. Gotta dance with who brung ya, Fingers. You squeaked by against inferior competetion last week, but the Punchsters are coming to town this week, so you better not pout and you better not cry, just get ready to watch some football. The champs make it to the Divisional finals with a nifty win over the Generals. I think this makes the High Ranking Military Officers 0-6 lifetime v. Punch. Denver's low output hurt the Generals, and nice balanced scoring, including 12 from Skip Hicks, gave Punch the win. Punch is getting well at the right time. Over in the Klingon Empire, those rookies are proving they got what it takes by whipping the Coronas for the first time this season. Randy Moss continues to be incredible, and Doug Flutie Kazootie contributed to the balanced win as well. This sets up what will probably be the real Fantasy Bowl, as the Wahoos get a HUGE 20 from Gary "the first kicker in fantasy history to be a franchise player" Anderson and drop the Slayers from the action. The Slayers got good production and 12 from Terence Mathis, but you just don't overcome 6 field goals from the opposing kicker. Wahoos v. Haters has been huge both times it has been played, and this week promises to continue the trend. Can the Haters beat the same team 3 times? Can the Wahoos count on Jamal Anderson, considering the turmoil in Atlanta? What about Jimmy Smith and the Jacksonville QB situation? I'm so excited, I feel like calling Keith Olbermann and screaming "Jeanluca Paluca" at the top of my lungs!
